you can't go by resistance alone, the knock filter is essentially a bandpass filter, meaning a highpass and lowpass filter combined, both of which have capacitors to help tune the frequency that they respond to.

it's........ complicated to explain. but the filter essentially reacts to large, fast changes by grounding a circuit, which causes the ECM to detect knock and retard timing.

The all numbers matching means; ECM included with the correct labels.

So the 7730 ecm I have, that has AUJP on it would mean numbers matching? Or do some of the other numbers on the ecm need to match too?

Yes, AUJP on the ECM stickers means all numbers matching. I sold a "Numbers Matching" ECM / Memcal on Ebay last year for well over $200!

Umm wow. I bought the ecm with memcal, hacked harness, and complete tpi intake off craigslist for $200. Sold the intake on ebay for $266. So I guess I came out pretty good. I think I may hang onto this.

Ok, enough of the thread hijack, sorry OP.
So back on topic, if you want to read my cylinder select thread. I just tested a 94 4.3L 7427 TBI memcal with the MPFI jumper wire, in a 7730 and 7727 on my test bench with no issues. But this was with a $8D bin changed to 6 cyl.

If I am understanding it right, you are trying to run a V8 with a 7727/7730, and you do not have a 7727/7730 V8 memcal? So you are trying to make one, but want a knock board for a 350 V8?
I have converted my 7427 to MPFI, so I have a MPFI jumpered 7427 V8 TBI memcal. If you are going to be running 8D, I can take this memcal and run it on my test bench with a stock V8 8D bin and see if I get any errors.

Yep, you've got it right! Easy to get my hands on the TBI truck stuff, not so much cars with 350's.

    I intend to run 8D.
    "Frankentruck" is a "1985" K5, TPI 350 '165/6E (Vortec Heads, SDPC2000 base, roller cam, headers), 32 Spline SM465, 205 w/VSS, 10b/14SF, 3.42's and 33" tires. Soon to be boxed frame, '87 sheetmetal, and TPI w/ '727
