I have a 92 4.3 s10 that I bought the g2 adapter to use a 27sf512 chip. I installed the adapter without the DIP 24 pin and had the truck running for a few minutes before going into closed loop. When it entered closed loop the SES light came on and the truck started running very poor. I shut the truck off and back on, the light stays on and will not flash. The light will also flicker very quickly.
I removed the adapter and soldered the 24 pin DIP into the board and used my old prom. Now the truck still will sporadically stop reading the chip and read the other chip in the computer, I checked there was no continuity between any of the pins. Is there something else I can try before calling the ECU toast, or is there a way to test it? The computer is a 16144288. Any advice is appreciated
