WOW, belaw I think we are on almost the same project. Ive spent the last two night soldering and heat shrinking an 88 wire harness for a 7427 carb to tbi swap. man what a pain... I found a label maker makes life a lot easier when you start swapping colors.

as far as the injector wires I've seen where people have used wire nuts to put replacement injector connectors 2" from the injector and it worked fine. of course I'm not supporting this kind of butchery as a suitable alternative to solder and shrink tube. just saying I've seen it work.

It is hard to say when they switched over to the Metripak, but I would say sometime around '93 maybe?

Thanks. Any idea on what types of vehicles GM used the low-profile horizontal TPS' that point to the side instead of up? Looking under the hood of every '85 to '93 GM vehicle in the yard will take forever!

The 454 TBI I used to have had the tps that pointed to the side, but every 350 or 4.3 truck tbi I have seen in the junkyards have all had the ones that pointed up. Yards around here have like 10 trucks to every 1 fullsize rwd car, so I have not seen any of the car units like mark speaks of.

I've seen one on a 92 k1500 2 wheel drive with a 4.3L. remember 4.3 tb is the same size as a 5.7 just different injectors.
