    INJECTORS (RUNNING TOO RICH?)

    Hi All,
    Seems i am running too rich, not sure if its the injectors or maybe the O2 settings.
    Issue:@ idle sitting in garage(especially here) or driveway it smells very rich and also i go thru fuel kinda fast for just sitting in the garage idling. I also get no CEL light coming on either.
    Its been a while since i played around on the EE HACK and Tuner Pro and i've sorta lost my navigational skills. i ran across a youtube video the other day and the person was talking about editing the equation on the Table or Scalars (forgot where he was at) to get the correct numbers for the injectors but i cant find that video again.
    SCALARS:INJECTOR FLOW RATE setting is @ 24.87
    CYLINDER VOLUME setting is @ 717.25
    MAP THRESHOLD TO ENABLE WOT setting is @ 15.00

    I also did a Cylinder test in EEHACK and came up with:
    CYLDROP Memo ::
    (Higher is better...)
    CYL1=33.4 CYL2=36.9
    CYL3=36.4 CYL4=38.1
    CYL5=39.2 CYL6=39.8
    CYL7=45.2 CYL8=39.2 ........................ Are these values ok?

    BOSCH 3 INJECTORS (24LB.)
    COMP CAM 07-305-8
    PCM 16188051

    I hope i've given enough info.... Thanks!

    Looks like your at WOT all the time. Better start with stock bin and work from there. First dial EOIT target and individual cylinder trims.

    i had my bin edited by Moe back in 12/20 according to my specs/what i have, car is still a garage queen and probably driven for testing less than 10 miles since then. what kind of value should i have for WOT @ idle?

    sorry, is "First dial EOIT target and individual cylinder trims" this in the EEHACK>Test tab> and am i sliding the dials on the #1-#8 cyl.to the maximum setting?

    Do you have the base[stock] bin file. The pcm comes from a 4.3 v8, so we need to find the base file and see if is suitable for your current setup.

    15KPa is GM's OE setting.
    Besides, Enabled is not necessarily always Active; the TPS Threshold for WOT-PE vs RpM, Low Temp table must also be used.

    Although 16188051 pcms were used for both 4.3L L99 and 5.7L LT1 V8s (in Caprice sedans), it's a bit strange that Moe used a 4.3L calibration as the base file for this tune.

    That your engine is a 5.7L is obvious, and stipulated. I'm commenting on the file you posted.

    Ok, after doublechecking
    The VIN of the file you posted corresponds to a 4.3L L99 V8 Caprice sedan, whose calibration ID would be 16230191
    However, the calibration number of the .bin file you posted is actually 16199871.

    It still does not rule out the possibility that the .bin file was originally an L99 .bin file, though.

    Vin and os are related to pcm. Maybe it was used once in a 4.3 v8. Later a reflash might have occurred with different bin, but the cal id are zeroed so it is really hard to tell what is inside the pcm.

    In post #7, I saw the file's VIN - 1G1BL52W8RR101108 - and looked it up on tis2web.service.gm.com/tis2web.
    1G1BL52W8RR101108 corresponds to calibration number 16230191, which is a '94 L99 4.3L with a 2.73 rear axle.
    I'll admit that was not very thorough, since I only looked at the .bin file's VIN.

    Looking at the file's calibration number directly, yields 16199871, which is, so far as I know, not a GM calibration part number.
    It does not rule out the possibility that the original .bin file was a 4.3L L99 .bin file, with pains taken to transpose all the 5.7L LT1 values into it so it would work well with a 5.7L LT1.

    I apologize for the distraction. Fine-tuning the injector data should make this .bin file work more than well enough.

    Thank you Lemarky... no apologizes needed. you have always gave me and others priceless knowledge!

    if this helps you more, along with my "8051 PCM ID here is the VIN from the Caprice 1G1BN52P3RR159873 and the Calibration # 16230221, Also, everything has been transplanted into an 84' El Camino.

    "Fine-tuning the injector data should make this .bin file work more than well enough".... could i get guidance on how to do this?

    I don`t see nothing weird in the tune. A basic start-up tune to get you running. Can you give more info on what is done to the car to the slightest detail, so we can get you in the rigth direction of tuning.
