    Change OS

I have a 2002 Escalade 6.0 AWD with OS 12209203. There isn't a XDF for this OS that I can find. Can I change the OS to something with a XDF file available without messing up the BCM stuff? Thanks for any advice you might share.

Yes, absolutely you can. Certainly feel free to make a copy of that 12209203 OS but it is useless to you unless somebody makes an XDF for it - highly unlikely. There are several other OS examples with good XDF support for you. Have you looked around this site for examples of these OS versions and discussions on how to make use of them?

What capability in the Body Control Module are you trying to preserve? If you are at all worried about this question, go to the junkyard and grab a different but identical powertrain control module for a little experimentation before overwriting your current PCM.

Is the VIN tied to a specific OS? Will my VIN work if I change the OS?

The VIN should not matter unless you live in a state with strict emissions control laws. I have a 17 character VIN in a 13 character VIN vehicle and Louisiana around here does not care at all.
