When I try to load it in TunerPro RT I get this message.....if I burn the chip in plain TunerPro...do I even need the ads?

What version of TPRT are you using? IIRC V4 uses ADS and V5 uses ADX. V5 has the means to convert a ADS into an ADX. ADS/ADX is only used for data acquisition and not necessary to burn the chip.
