    Jay,
I thank you for the offer but for the moment I'm going to pass on the files/tunes - until I decide if the L4big PCM is suitable for my application. I may change my mind sometime soon.

    Thanks again 1P2M,
Good information all around. Saturn's Compression Sense Ignition is intriguing. Also, the MEFI controllers have some good possibilities but so far they do not look cheap. I...

    Thanks 1P2M,
You've answered the firing order question and I thank you for that.

I did not analyze the autozone diagram but find it amazing that the more sophisticated engine would have less...

I got on the j-body.org board and did some reading. The PCM is apparently known as "L4BIG." Anybody ever heard of this?

First things first - can the firing order in GM PCMs normally be...

Dave W, apparently you are correct or mostly correct. I paid a visit to the local PnP yesterday to see what GM hath wrought. Then after I got back to a keyboard, I did some learning.

    4 cyl GM SFI ????

    All,
Can the 12200411 be configured to run a 4 cyl? Alternatively, is there a GM ECM/PCM (2002 vintage or earlier) that is SFI and native to the 4 cyl?
    Thanks,
    Larry

Thanks Dave for the clarifications. I think one of the electronically identical installations is the way to go for me.

    All,
I took a day off to clear my head. But now am planning a trip to...

2Many, you, and your associates, are terrific resources - again this is great information. The SDS MPFI system I referred to above had a cockpit adjustable system (a readout gauge and dial) to allow...

Okay, probably a marine ECM (or perhaps two of them for redundancy) if not too expensive. Not likely to find a lot of them at Pick-n-Pull. I may start with a salvage yard application and then...

Steve, Delcowiz, Dave and 2Many - hey guys, this is really great stuff - just the kind of input I need.

    1. Yes the plan is to definitely use an O2 sensor, most likely a wide band.

Six_Shooter, I appreciate your thoughts on "certified" aircraft parts. It's an environment that I live with every day. That said, I pretty much agree with the guys over at DIY Auto Tune...

    Scary report 2MANY.

Unlike the unfortunate pilot-builder, my plan would be to evolutionary as opposed to revolutionary. Don't know all the details of the build, but the addition of a...
  13. Intending to do fuel only TBI on 4 cyl aircraft engine

I don't recall if I ever posted an intro message but my account was not deleted so maybe so. Maybe I joined before the intro message requirement?

Can someone point me to a comprehensive thread on...
