I just checked and although I come on this board nearly every day I haven't actually posted since Jan. of 2015. Thanks to everyone that helped me in the past and keep up the good work...
I have that set up in a Nissan hard body truck with a different ECM. It ran similar to that until I changed ECM's. I may have done something to that one somehow during installation, as it was running...
Look through some of this...

You will need an ECM for it. Check the stickies here for some wiring tutorials. I still have the stock Nissan ECM in mine as well as the GM one, as I have not yet sorted out what needs to be...
No, some of the power comes from the fuse side, I believe. I know in my case from using a truck harness, that the power to the injectors was from over there... I had cut the harness at that block...
Godspeed...
I usually deal in carbuerators. And mostly hot rodded systems with Holly style carbs, which I don't recall seeing a regulator on the return side (if the system is not dead headed). These are low...
I don't recall seeing a regulator on the return side of a fuel system before. That is the reason why I asked. Thanks.
First of all, don't laugh... LOL... I usually work on carbs.
Anyway, I read on here and have recieved advice on my ongoing project about the need for higher fuel pressure. I have done the...
My bad...
Check the pic at the bottom of this thread... http://www.gearhead-efi.com/Fuel-Injection/showthread.php?3983-My-aldl-does-not-look-right!&highlight=aldl+pin
Yes, I wired it using a modified stock harness. I used the pin outs available here, and I do have both keyed power and battery power. I unplugged the ECM to see if the battery goes down until I can...
Will have to wait until I return to work in a couple of weeks for the amp draw check. I did get the alternator to charge and have been doing a few test drives.
Will do tomorrow if the rain holds off. I was using the meter fooling with the alternator, wasn't really looking for a current draw at the time, just decided to fool with it while I was there. I put...
You are correct volts. My bad. Test was done with the battery connected, and with the multimeter in series with the cable and battery. (Lead on one battery terminal, other on cable, cable not...
I finally got my project out of transmission jail. It has an electrical gremlin or 3, one of which is the alternator not charging... I think? I got a handle on that now... The main one is the battery...
Nice work and nice car...
OK, reread everything. The long travel lifters you are referring to are for a small base circle camshaft. This keeps them from dropping out of the lifter bore. Comp doesn't offer a cam shaft with a...
Comp cams brand is much cheaper than that...
Stock lifters with that lift cam could be your oiling issue. The oil holes on the side of the lifter body can clear the lifter bore. Comp (and others) sell a lifter specifically to address this...
Have the older heads been upgraded to hardened valve seats? If not I would scrounge another vortec head. They are pretty cheap...
Glad to see you are out and about...
Best of luck and a speedy recovery...
I am following this. I have a 4L80 I am putting in yet another v8 Chevy LUV, but I am a ways away from finishing it up...
I had inadvertently left a wire unterminated.
