It comes down to quantity, if the production was say 10,000 48x distributors, the price would be about the same as other aftermarket performance distributors.

All is not lost on CNP, I'm thinking a Large Cap HEI diameter distributor would be needed for the 48x CNP trigger wheel. I've kicked around the idea of having the CKP and CMP sensors bottom mounted...

I think a stock TPI system would be OK for about 300 HP, and a modified TPI would be OK for about 400 HP. The TPI system is designed for low to mid range RPM performance.

In general, cost and technical support are major considerations in any project. I have to wonder, "what if" Ford, Dodge, and Toyota engines / transmissions were available for about the same price...

With custom rides / custom power trains comes unexpected headaches / nightmares. Grounding the TAC module ... it's a good thing to do!:thumbsup:

I've had SBC cranks straightened by machine shops that have crank grinding equipment. Maybe in the near future you can get your compressor crank professionally straightened?

I've heard similar comments on Diesel engines "they don't look to be very rev-happy"; but a Diesel will make "the" torque.

My only experience with one of these V6 engines was in the summer of '76,...
