LOL, The use of a null modem adapter in this setup is well completely pointless. Just swap pins 2 and 3 on the DB9 when you solder up the little circuit and you avoid any need for the null modem...

I agree it's not a perfect situation or solution to the problem, the idea was just that if on did find themselves with a bricked FTDI based device that there could be a way to revive it.

It won't test at 160 baud, TP RT is not designed that way.

The 160 baud comms are different than the 8192 comms in how they are initiated.

160 baud is flowing all the time, where as 8192 baud...

You mean the power LED? The power LED should be on when ever there is power connected to the board.

Have you manually installed the FTDI drivers? Windows won't find the drivers for FTDI devices.
