good tip on not being plugged into the car for self test to work but i also never saw any mention of the driver thats being used for that usb cable, that could also be an issue..possibly..

my best advice would be to keep it simple, the following is a pretty simple, basic old schoole ecm that even has a pretty trouble free starting solution.... best of luck lol :laugh:

there is also the megasquirt which has a direct plug and play version, the ones i have seen all fit in the stock ecm's case with room to spare.

i belive the megasquirt can be set up as maf or map...

ok i'm still trying to wrap my head around this cars history.. so far i got that the car is a 89 firebird with the 165 ecm running the APYU bin(stock or modified?). tell me more about this "blower"...
