I have a 96 GMC Yukon with the L31 5.7 and want to know more about it and possible upgrades.

The most popular computer upgrade is the 0411 pcm. The "black box" originally installed in that truck only has limited tuning support. What are you interested in doing with the truck?
That's a good question. I'm currently considering the 0411 pcm upgrade and it may well be a precursor to a ls type engine swap.
That would be a logical move. What transmission is in the truck now?
It has the 4L60E transmission 4X4. I know it isn't the strongest tranny but I would rebuild it with some 4L65E upgrades when swapping motors.
