Fuel pressure is43 psi,then drops off. car won't start without a shot of ether,but runs good after starting. Any ideas?:mad1:

Is that 43 psi dropping off when key is on and engine is off? I'm no expert with lt1 fuel systems but if the pressure is dropping off immediately before starting the engine then here is where I would start. Pull the fuel rail with injectors and wiring attached and turn key on to prime the system and see if you have leaky injectors. If they leak off the pressure to fast your initial pressure to the engine wouldn't be enough to start. The fuel pump itself also has a one way check valve inside to hold the pressure to the injectors until it's started. I would eliminate leaky injectors first just to make sure they aren't the culprit. Again I'm not too familiar with these systems but I would start there.
