Can't log with code59

Ok so it's been a while sense I had time to mess with my fiero 749 ecm, code59, 2.3l quad 4. Last time I tried to tune it I couldn't get it to emulate with apu1 but still could log. My dad has been tuning his s10 running $OD just fine tho couldn't emulate on it either. But now I can't get the apu1 to connect to my fiero. If I load the $OD adx it connects flashing errors but code59 just holds the "connecting" window. What am I doing wrong? I'm sure it's something I'm overlooking.
