newbie problem
Hi
I have a 1990 r2500 burb with the 7.4. Here is the problem I am facing. I tried the $42 file series. The analog gauges are unreadable. The needles move, so I believe the data stream is flowing. The digital number underneath work. Do I need another set of files or is there another problem? Would the $85 file work?
Thanks Brad

What is the ECM number? While you look get the four letter BCC/chip code...
-
Ok here is the numbers I came up with;
On the ECM - 01228747
On the chip I found these:
JT8(G)/J6/P
LFIVN812
AD40
-
1228747 is $4F

For the chip you need the four letters off top of chip. The numbers you gave are off the bottom and don't help.

Sorry about that. I had the chip in a holder. It is AUMZ
Now with tunerpro running, but not hooked up to the vehicle, should the gauges be readable with the new ($4F) file?
Thanks Brad

Not without a data log to tell them what to read.
Or do you mean they are blank? If they are blank it's because I add a butt load of pre made dashboards to ADX files I work on, but you need to Right Click on each gauge and choose from the list what you want there.

No what I mean is that the gauges are unreadable. Say for instance rpms. The needle is pointing to a scratch instead of a number.

I think a screen shot is needed to understand the problem.

The laptop is outside out of range of the hotspot. Let me get a screenshot and I will post it up in a while.
Thank you for your assistance. It is much appreciated.

Here is the screen shot after I used 4F. The truck wasn't hooked up. Is it supposed to be like that?
Thanks Brad

Ahhhhhhh.....???? Something is wrong? I just checked and those ADX work fine, I actually used them a couple weeks ago on a truck too... but it's like your computer is missing fonts? or?

I wonder what is wrong!!! I used this laptop before with TP and didn't have a problem. I will check into it.
Thanks again for all your assistance
I will let you know what the problem was if I figure it out.
