I have a late model 454 Tbi and the base overhangs the base of the sb 3074 intake and will cause a vacuum leak,
anyone make a plate of have another way to fix that??
Thought about JB weld but that would only be a temp repair at best..

I've used 1/4" aluminum flat stock to mate a TBI to a Q-jet intake.
I’m going to make a plate out of 1/4 aluminum..Attachment 12633
But now I need longer mounting bolts:rolleye:
fix one problem and cause another...........
Yanno...I own that exact intake and through all these forums learned that the bore size is less than 1 11/16" which is smaller than the 4.3/5.0/5.7 TBIs. Anyhoo...care to share how you bored yours out to 2 inches?
I bought a 1" TBI spacer with the same footprint for the BB TB. Came with longer mounting bolts and new gaskets for top and bottom. It sealed just fine.
You had your 3740 intake bored out? I've heard that it's a 50/50 chance of hitting the water jackets around the throttle bores.

There’s no water around the bores it is in the floor of the intake though
