I've used megasquirts on custom setups and found that they work OK. I used them to prototype an application I expect to make several of, and now want to use a GM ecu and reflash it because it is a much cheaper way to go whenever you want to do more than one unit. The GM also has the advantage that there is limp home mode, so you can amke it home if something fails.
