Writing on chips??
Short version....
Moates Autoprom, G2 adapter, 27sf512 chip(s) for a 7427 PCM.
Wanting to burn a spare chip or 2, one w/o 4L80e settings, one (maybe 2nd for a spare later) with.
Will it hurt them to write on the top of the chip with.... say silver Sharpie?
Thanks,
Jim

go for it.
i doubt that ink would be conductive, but even if it were, just don't touch any pins with it. with the 5V signals that get used, you won't have to worry about any kind of current "leaking" over the top of the chip package.

I still use a sticker to write on.
Ran out of stickers once and used duct tape... not a good idea as I guess it conducts electricty. Chips did not work! Remove duct tape and they worked... :mad1:
