see, i'll buy one and it will probably be correct, so then I place an order for a dozen of them through the same source and i'll end up with a dozen incorrect ones and a lot of time/money wasted.
I would have to ask the seller to test every one of them for the 4 critical pins to make sure they make it to both ends and I don't know if they're willing to go through all of that trouble.

How are the cables coming along?
-
summed into a few words: not very. I still haven't too far into checking/revising the dimensions of the prototype connector Jim and his contact produced with my current planned circuit.... the planned circuit changes noticeably at times when I can't make up my mind about the best way to go about achieving certain goals, so I end up doing the same engineering work multiple times and I get burned out on it quickly.

hi I'm new to the forum i was sent here from GMT400.com i have a 1994 c1500 5.7l 350 tbi and i need the cable for the chip burning, i also have a question do i need to buy the chip separate? or you guys also offer one? thanks in advance!

I don't believe the cables are currently being sold. You can get pretty much everything you'd need for your '94 at moates.net

Robert, are you actually selling the ALDL to USB cables?
Sure wish I hadn't thrown away the one we built at GM Powertrain.

Unfortunately I believe this project has stalled. From time to time old GM equipment shows up in Ebay auctions. I missed a chance at an AVT made cable that appeared to be for datalogging from the ecm service connector. Would have been neat to have. I don't know if any of Bob Rauscher's Lockers schematics are available but that's the best way to get your data if you have the ability to use one.

stalled is probably an understatement... after getting boned by all of the distributors I was using and having no ability to keep producing cables without having to either increase cost considerably or build them at-cost/loss, I threw everything I had accumulated into a box and shoved it into what I like to consider the "cold storage" section of my work area.

Try these folks out for OBD1 & 2 supplies.
I just received a 12 pin male molded end with ~ 3 feet of able and it appears to be a quality piece @ $15+ship not bad.

Do you still sell cables here? I made one from some parts I had laying around but having issues. Time to get a good one. Thanks
