I use a non dial back light without issue on my DIS. Yes, there are twice as many flashes as there would be if it were non wasted spark, but it works well, and I can see the timing mark change whether it's by ECM control, or manually manipulating SA.
I bet it's a setting issue, where somewhere in the hardcoding for 6 cyl hasn't been changed and once it is, it should run like a top.
It's really too bad there is no underhood version of the '165, because $12P would be perfect for this.
Is there a way to drop a dizzy in it, even just for testing, to eliminate the ignition hardparts and set-up as major issues?
