1993 S10 LS swap
Helping a friend swap a 5.3 into a 1993 s10. Original engine and trans were already gone and LS along with a THM400 were installed. I have the LS running and now I am working getting the gauges and speedometer working now. The original VCM was a 16173782 which had the vss connected directly to the vcm. My question is what is the ppm of the signal expected by the instrument cluster for the speedometer? He bought a 16ppr before I got involved. I can calibrate/translate the signal if I know what the cluster is expecting.
Thanks,
Brian

I can't find a document showing the PPM from the DRAC / VSSB to the instrument panel. I am thinking the DRAC / VSSB output is 4000 PPM to the instrument panel, but I'm not sure that is correct. Attached are pics of the DRAC / VSSB wiring for a 16197427 PCM. I'm thinking the 93 S10 would have also used a DRAC / VSSB?

This was one of the weird tbi with manual transmission and RWAL brakes. Id say the cluster signals didn't change between options. This one had the weird VCM. Three connectors. Red White and blue. I'll put a signal generator on it and confirm 4k PPM.
Thanks Dave

Here are some diagrams for the VCM I found. Doesn't show using a VSSB/Drac module unless its on the back of the cluster itself. I haven't gotten that far yet. Just trying to figure out what it's expecting at the cluster. First one of these I have ever seen in person.
