93 vs 95 454 fuel injectors
I need some input on a tbi swap my dad and I have done. 1983 c3500 originally had a diesel engine. we bought it with a carburetor 454 already in place. Decided to go fuel injection, bought everything from a 1993 c3500 454 tbi. Installed this combo, and truck ran just fine. Fast forward a year, Dad decides that the turbo 400 needs to be replaced with 4l80e. I found a new 95 ecu and prom for 1995 454 4l80e combo. Re-pin ecm connectors to 1995 schematic. Now truck will idle, but when you increase rpm, it falls on it's face. Injector pattern goes from nice open cone to a tight cone, looks like it is dumping fuel. Not sure, but am thinking that the 95 ecm is supposed to control bigger psi injectors, not the 9-13 psi it has now. So....need to know if I should swap the 93 fuel delivery(injectors, regulator, pump) to a 95 30 psi set up. If so, are the 93 injectors physically the same as 95 injectors, or do I need to find a 95 injector pod?? any advice appreciated.

The egr can cause much grief if one is EVRV and other is solenoid(didn't check your files). I would turn off egr for now till you verify wiring which it sounds like is your issue somewhere. Bottom line is you can swap early and late TB units(as long as fuel pump keeps up) and not change the cal. Not that it doesn't need a cal improvement but stock will still get you down the road :)
I swapped ecu because of the 4l80e. The trans was 95 and up, the 7060 ecu/prom would not control it correctly. something was different with the pressure control solenoid and how the ecu controlled it. I believe the 93 4l80e had a program that caused solenoid to perform a cleaning routine every few seconds or something...not sure, just know that it was not controlling it right, and trans would not shift correctly. The swap to the 4l80e was what started this whole nightmare! As far as egr goes, I did swap to the solenoid type and rewired the harness for that egr to work.
