New guy to FI
Hi, found this website doing a search for 1226430 ecm/xdf files and turns out I found a stock binary here! Anyway, read the rules so here's my intro. I got an '84 Corvette a few months ago for next to nothing and 51k on the clock. This is my first fuel-injected car, so I figured I'd dive in and see what I can do to the computer. I know just about everyone swaps computers on these, but I like challenges and figured I'd be one of the few to stick with the 6430 (or 6026 in the auto cars). Any help finding files for both these computers would be great. I talked to Ben73 and he gave me some great .bins and an .ecu for the 6026. Again, any help with the 6430 would be great, thanks!

Welcome to the site!

Re: New guy to FI
i'll just state that the Crossfire stuff was quite odd in how it did things... if at all possible, i would be looking to run it on an ECM that at least pushes out a 8192 baud datastream to aid in tuning, that 160 baud stuff is a real pain.

Re: New guy to FI
I'm running a crossfire intake on a 305, using a 16197427 PCM. I am also running a 4L60E as well.
So far, other than needing a different VSS to actually control the tranny properly (Uhg, research fail on that one it seems), it runs great.

Re: New guy to FI
Ya, it's slow and not hacked, but just out of curiosity are there any computers I can use without losing my MPG gauge?
-
Re: New guy to FI
Well, the big thing keeping me from swapping computers or going all out and getting EBL is that the MPG gauge is run off the ECM, and as far as I know (which isn't that much :D) there isn't a way to swap ECMs and keep gauge functionality. Otherwise, I'd have no problem making a harness adapter and running a different ECM.

Re: New guy to FI
It should be possible to run 2 ECMs - one for the gauges and mileage and one that actually runs the spark and injectors - just a thought

Re: New guy to FI
the guage won't necessarily be accurate in that situation though.
