Studying:
VE Tables
$88 Mask - Main Volumetric Efficiency Vs. RPM Vs. MAP
$OD/$E6 Mask - Open Throttle VE vs. MAP vs. RPM

Same table with a different name, or different tables?

Have been studying how to make history tables. Eagle Mark has many great tutorials but many reference the older mask and some of the tables are not found in the new mask under those titles. But if you match the address they show up under the different title.

Thanks!

Louis

It's challenging with the different names being used for the same thing. What the heck :mad1: a fuel table is a fuel table and a spark table is a spark table.

Often the names are different because of "code logic". For example $E6, $OD, $OE, and $31 have Near Idle and Off Idle tables for fuel and spark. The "code logic" qualifies parameters to start using or stop using Near Idle or Off Idle tables. So there it is: What the heck :mad1: a fuel table is a fuel table and a spark table is a spark table.

Tuning Tip for $E6, $OD, $OE, and $31 . . . the data log will show when the "Idle Flag" is active.

Here's something a bit more confusing. Folks at GM obviously felt the need to split a single VE table into two tables. The "near idle" table is able to provide more control over the "near idle" fuel mixture by incorporating more cells. Yet most calibrations really don't seem to have enough differences between the near idle and off-idle tables to support the idea that two tables were needed.

Thanks DaveW and 1project2many for the clarification!
