I'm new to the forum. I got here by looking into MEMCALs for my dad to help him with a C2500 that he put a new 5.7L in and has been having problems with!

What is the 5.7 liter computer part number?

Well the computer that is in it, and that it game with is 16197427. From what I can tell he should have a BNKM.

Here is the rub though. The engine he got for it, is a 5.7L, it isn't from a C2500, or even the same year.

Is the transmission a 4L80E?

The 4L80E uses either definition file $OE or $31

$31: http://www.gearhead-efi.com/Fuel-Injection/showthread.php?338-16156930-PCM-Information-31

$OE: http://www.gearhead-efi.com/Fuel-Injection/showthread.php?337-16196395-PCM-Information-OE

1987 - 1995 VIN code "K" engines basically have the same injectors, camshaft, heads, and intake.

Using BNKM-$31-5.7L-4L80E.bin is a good plan.

Awesome. I had already pulled a $31 down to try to put in there if it came to that. There seems to be a lot of information out there on this stuff but there is a lot of it to sift through.

Out of curiosity, is there somewhere with documentation on what CPU is running inside the ECM?

Thank you very much for the information!

I've read the 16197427 uses a Motorola Microprocessor,

That makes sense I suppose. Probably an old 68000 series chip, they ran tons of stuff back in those days it seems like.

Thank you!
