I found a pretty controversial topic and hope to shed more light on it. I don't want to coat my brand newintake manifold and combustion chambers with crank case junk, so I wanted to try a catch can. However, a good buddy told me to run a breather on my catch can and essentially just vent the crank case. Then there's people who say there's major benefits to pulling vacuum on your crank case (ring seal, VC seal, less strain on bottom end,...)

My thought is run a catch can that dumps back into IM vacuum and if the catch can works, the intake runners should stay clean? My stock intake was pretty nasty on the inside so I want to put it together better than before. If anybody has messed with this, some first hand experience would be much appreciated.
Engine is a tbi 350

One of the diesel boards I am on has had a few discussions on this. If you have a Tractor Supply near you, start with one of their agriculture sprayer filters. They work amazingly well as an oil separator. Stuff it full of some stainless steel wool and empty/change it whenever you do an oil change.

A larger version of the Tractor Supply Line Strainer would be awesome.
