View Full Version : Tuning '90 vette for boost with CCM comms

I have a 1990 Corvette, which has the 1227727 running $8D. I'm looking at tuning it for boost, but I can't find an option that preserves the ECM-CCM communications required in '90-'91 vettes for some dash displays (and possibly ABS/climate control).

I'd really like to have more functionality than stock, such as being able to run flex fuel or use a wastegate to control boost based on gear/alcohol content/etc.

I see a few options:

Upgrade the hardware (standalone/EBL Flash) and either replicate CCM comms or somehow leave the 727 connected for this functionality. No one seems to know what the datastream to the CCM looks like, and I have no idea how I'd run the stock ECM in parallel with a standalone.
Add a RAM chip to my ECM and hack $8D to make it do what I want. Toooooons of work.
Flash $58 or $59. Edit: this (https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums/c4-tech-performance/649900-convert-l98-727-ecm-to-boost-aware-sy-ty-749ecm.html#post1545256997) CF post says that $58 and $59 won't work.
Use it as-is with a 2-bar MAP sensor. Not considering this.

Can anyone comment on this?

if you haven't seen this, it will cover all tue stuff you want to do: http://www.dynamicefi.com/EBL_P4_Flash.php

have you tried contacting rbob about CCM comm? it says it may be implemented if enough demand for it. perhaps he needs a test bed for it?
