Hello,

I'm new to the forum and tuning. Please be gentle!

I just purchased a VCX Nano and have spent countless hours searching the net and can't find the information I need.

I've installed PCM Hammer on a laptop running Windows 7 Ultimate and I've plugged in the VCX Nano to the USB port and Windows reported that the device driver was installed.

When I run PCM Hammer, I then clicked - SELECT DEVICE - Then - J2534, under the J2534 Device List nothing is listed.

Do I need to install another device driver?

Regards

You need to install VX Manager and during the installation, check the box to install the J2534 driver with it. After it's installed it will work. You do not need to have VX Manager open when using PCM Hammer.

Edit to add:

Don't bother with the cd that comes with it. Get the software from vxdiagshop.com

Thanks for the link!

I downloaded and installed the software. I selected J2534 pass through.

When I bring up VX Manager in device settings it tells me that I need to update the license.

I also get the same message Update license when I launch PCM Hammer.

I tried the Update License ICON - but I get UPDATE FAILED: Error 0. Try Again.

Any ideas?

Regards

!!!! SUCCESS !!!!

For anyone else who has this issue, I thought I would post how I resolved my problem.

After following the instructions in Post #2, VX Manager kept giving an error message that the license needed to be updated. To update the license it seems that the firmware had to be updated first.

In VX Manager - Device Tab

- Select Update Firmware.

When the update was finished, the program tried to update the license and failed.

I then selected - Update License.

The license was successfully updated.

So far I have been able to read a 1MB PCM, read time was 5 minutes.

I haven't tried writing yet.

Further Update.

Writing to the PCM was successful. I was able to clone a PCM in under 2 minutes.

I’m looking to buy this similar product. Did you get it from Amazon? Is it the VXDIAG VCX nano?

Yep. It is a vxdiag vcx nano device. see Post #2. Look at vxdiag official (vxdiagshop.com (https://www.vxdiagshop.com/wholesale/vxdiag-vcx-nano-for-gm-opel.html)).
Don't bother with CD, they've got software download and installation tutorial.
programming has been verified working by many.

Hello,

Yes, this is an over-the-top awesome use of the Nano. I have been using the Nano as a Tech2 clone and thought I had gotten my money's worth merely with that usage. Using the Nano with PCM Hammer is four times faster than using the OBDLink MX or MX+ Bluetooth method.

Thank you very much for this post!!!
