The one I found listed on here is DEFINITELY not a 2156 for the 8.1 and Allison combo, need one because this is the only OS I've found that has the right parameters defined to let me actually do something about the pesky traction control and torque management. If anyone has one, or the ability to make one, I'd appreciate it!

If you have the correct VIN for the 2156 OS Vehicle, there is the option to purchase a file from TunerCats. http://www.tunercat.com/

I've purchased several .cal files from TunerCats, maybe TunerCats would be willing to sell the .bin file as well?

I've helped a few members by downloading a .cal file and posted back the .bin files.

Unless you feel like spending $$$$ on hard parts in your transmission, be cautious about messing with torque management. Stock 4L60Es will live far longer with torque management, and the 6L80E I was just looking inside definitely was designed to take advantage of torque management.

cgw,

The two 8.1/Allison bins I have are a different OS. I could be wrong, but I'm not sure this combination ever came with a 8.1L/Allison trans with 2156 OS for 2002 in a 512K meg 12200411 PCM.

Could you share the bins with the Allison trans?

Tunercat doesn't read the separate Allison TCM. That is why the TC .cals show as 4L80s.

I see
im new to ecm programming.
I have a 2004 GM ecm from an 8.1 with the Allison trans
i need to remove VATS and all smog related components.
I have the blue ECM connector with small power supply and Bluetooth OBDII
If you wouldn’t mind sharing your knowledge on how to remove
THE VATS As well as other smog related options.
A vehicle that we’re building.
I have an Apple phone and android phone as well as the laptop with windows so
I have plenty of options there .
I appreciate your help. Thank you so very much.

I'm probably not the best person to help with DIY programming as I mainly use commercial products like Tunercat and HP Tuners. There are others here more proficient with things like PCM Hammer. Do you have a cable that works with that? I also have that but rarely use it because like I said I have the other programmers. HP Tuners does read the Allison TCM when you use it.

I use PCMHammer and Tunerpro with OBDlink LX. This site has tons of info on it and also pcmhacking.net.

So you are saying PCMHammer read that Allison TCM?
