I'm planning a TPI Swap into an 85 Trans Am. The system is being pulled complete from an 88 Trans Am with a 1227165 ECM. I'm thinking of converting the stock MAF system to SD and using a 16197427 PCM. Have last experience with the 7427 going into a TBI system i installed into a 78 Corvette (with lots of help from this site!).

Trying finger my head wrapped around the proper Knock Sensor to use with the 7427. The 85 is a 350 with a manual trans.

Can I use a KS from any 94-95 TBI truck that would have originally come with a 7427?
Does the auto or manual trans matter for the KS?

Thanks for any guidance!

You need an automatic knock sensor. The manual trans trucks used the earlier style sensor as the used the older ECMs.

Thanks! Checking thru RockAuto, looks like a KS6 from Standard would be a match then.

Using a TPI setup versus the original TBI wouldn't make a difference, correct?
