Hi, everyone. My name is Joe Henderson and I live in the Kansas City area. I have a 1989 Suburban V2500 with a 5.7L / TH400. I'm currently using an Android phone with ALDLdroid to do some diagnostics, but I'm also interested in learning how to burn my own PROM.

There are several options for burning TBI chips. One possible option is to convert the TBI computer to use a "Flash Chip" - http://www.gearhead-efi.com/Fuel-Injection/showthread.php?172-7747-Flash-Chip-Conversion-(27SF512)

The original 2732 chip requires an ultra violet light to erase the chip before reprogramming. The 27SF512 "Flash Chip" is electronically erased and can be erased / reprogrammed using a Moates.net Burn 2 - https://www.moates.net/burn2-chip-programmer-p-197.html The Burn 2 Can Not program a 2732 chip.

Can you replace the OE EPROM with the 27SF512 or do you need an adapter?

The original 2732 TBI chip is 24 pins.

The Flash Chip 27SF512 is 28 pin.

The are multiple options / modifications that allow using the 27SF512 chip in a TBI computer. To the best of my knowledge, there IS NOT plug-n-play option for installing the 27SF512 chip into the TBI computer.

The ULTIMATE LOW COST option allowing the 27SF512 chip into a TBI computer unitizes intermediate soldering skills.

Many members consider working with the original 2732 TBI chip a PAIN IN THE A$$ (wallet):mad1:
