Been tuning Duramax's for year's now with efilive, but recently I picked up a 99 2 door Tahoe with a 5.7l vortec in it. So I'm dipping my feet into gasser efi tuning. Joined up because of the .xdf's for tunerpro hoping to be able to adjust some things efilive doesn't offer. I've got a bit of a learning curve ahead of me transitioning over, hoping I can get some tips, pointers, hopefully access to some more parameters than I currently have, and hopefully 1 day be able to get good enough with gas tuning to help out like I have others with diesel tuning.

:welcome:

The 99 Tahoe L31 black box PCM is not a popular computer, which helps explain why it has limited aftermarket hardware / software support. To best of my knowledge, TunerPro does not support the 99 black box PCM. Myself and other members have upgraded the L31 Black Box to the more popular and better supported LS1 12200411 PCM, which has some support from TunerPro.

I've already done the 0411 swap with the 1256 OS loaded in it with the help of lextech. I'm currently in the process of doing the marine intake swap on it(my spiders were bad, and I had a new take off marine intake given to me), aluminum distributor, 7.4l throttle body, and dual electric fans. Lextech helped me with the base file for the fans, so I'm hopeful they work as I know others have had trouble getting them to work with the A/C and the high pressure sensor to switch them between low and high.

I'm not new to tuning by any means as I've tuned to many Duramax's to count, tuned carbed engines for years, and I've even used resistors, sensor relocations, and other tricks with OLD school EFI system's, but this is my 1st gasser to electronically alter the fuel and timing tables in the PCM itself. I was going through tunerpro with the .xdf file I found here for a 1256 and a camaro .bin file, and seen quite a few more tables than efilive had, just wished the a/c type and a few others were in it. I played with tunerpro years back helping some people with 6.5l diesel tuning, and wished now I would have continued learning it so I would know how .xdf's and such were put together.

I use both EFI Live and TunerCats for OBD2 flashing. The attached .bin file was originally from EFI Live file Depot (no longer supported) that was flashed into a "mule" 0411 PCM then read back with TunerCats as a .bin file.

There is the option of using a Trinary Switch for AC fan control, combined with PCM fan control.

I'm using one of the GM purple high pressure switches on my LB7 to control the electric fan I mounted to the condenser in my 95 Duramax Suburban I built. It turns it on at 283 and off at 210. I'm stuck on making this one work like GM designed it so they cut out at a preset speed, and alternate from low to high fan speed.

I just want to throw it out there. I now have a spare 0411 PCM, bench harness, power supply, Tech2 clone, an older XP laptop, and got it so I can get tunes flashed(I can't get it to work in pass through, but I can do it via the Tech2, most say it's a rs232 to usb driver problem). I also have an obdlink sx cable and pcmhammer working, so if somebody needs a particular .bin file for an 01/02 0411 PCM, get me a VIN number, and I can get it for you. I'm also looking for a P59 type so I can get 03-07 files.
