I am trying to help a friends son by telephone. He has a 95 s10, 4.3 vortec, standard trans. What mask do you think that would be running as a starting point for my looking.

The 16197427 came in many trucks and can run $31, $0D, $0E, $E6 mask.

It could be a red/blue connector PCM like a 16197427 or it could be a vcm like the 16193495 which is flash based and has little to no support. If it is a red/blue PCM you can try an $E6 or or an $0D adx and see if you get any data from a datalog. From what I have read, the 16193495 uses a crank sensor on the timing cover like the 1996 and up engines yet is CPI with the tuning valve in the intake.
