454tbi truck vs 454ss bin?

I hope I can get some info here. I am quite new to engine programming and to this site... I have a 1975 k5 with a 1987 454tbi in it and I got a ebl flash ecm from dynamic efi for it. Mainly it was for basic stuff like setting idle the way I wanted since it was working against the torque converter even on idle, controlling cooling fan, TCC and so on. I found out that the later 454ss trucks had slightly more hp than the regular tbi trucks and the only difference I could find was a dual exhast and other timing. Then I thought it would be quite easy to just edit the stock truck configuration that was supplied with the ebl flash. But then I need to find the accurate bin for a 454ss with the 255hp setup. I searched this forum a bit and all numbers and so on just got me all confused... Anyone who want to help a tuning noob?

The EBL is a better computer than the stock 454 TBI computer. The 454 SS timing table might be better than the EBL 454 timing table?

Please post the EBL 454 .bin file you are working with.

Here is the actual ebl bin the truck is running with right now. The distributor was set to almost 8 degrees by previous owner so I modified the base timing and SA table in the bin for that change from stock 4 degrees.

I think the timing table in the attached .bin will work better than the timing table you are currently using. The timing table is modified (to fit EBL) from a factory 454 $OE timing table. Use at your own risk, standard disclaimer.

Thanks for that. Just a question, what type of truck was that timing table from? Those numbers don't tell me very much right now...

The exact Make / Model / Year of the truck the MODIFIED timing table is UNKNOWN. The MODIFIED timing table is based on a TBI 454 engine used during the 1993 - 1995 model years.
