View Full Version : Converting HP Tuners VE table values to TunerPro

Hi All,

Does anyone know the conversion rate for a HP Tuners VE table into the TunerPro?

Looking at the HP Tuners program, it can show the VE cell values in percentage or number.
TunerPro cells units are in Grams * Kelvin/kpa which doesn't really make sense to me, as Kelvin I'm assuming is a temparature variable, and the KPA is one of the axis.
Could someone please explain the calculation that occurs so that I can convert these tables to input from HPT into TunerPro?

What OS/car are we talking about? The sreenshot is too bad to see that.

OK, I can see it's 2088 OS.

X/5120 = g*K/kPa
(X/0.1767711646826163)/Y = VE %

X - raw VE value,
Y - cylinder volume in cc

Is the 5120 value specific to a particular engine (e.g.SBC350), i.e. would I need to adjust the 2 numerical values or are they constants?

Also I take it cylinder volume is the total cylinder volume e.g. cylinder volume plus combustion chamber volume? *Cyl radius^2 x stroke length)+ 64cc chamber volume

5120 is value specific to OS, but all GM OBD2 VPW PCMs should have it the same way.
Cylinder volume is the value in calibration {B0104 - Cylinder Volume} and it should match the engine cylinder displacement, NOT including combustion chamber.
