Hello, I am Dan from Williamsburg, VA. I have a 1986 Olds 442 with a 350 SBC and 400 THM and a tired Eldlebrock 4BBL that I intend to replace with GM TBI. I also have a 1995 Suburban with stock 350 TBI and 4L60E. I want to do the 442 TBI swap to get some hands on experience with EFI, and am likely going to go with 1995 vintage components that will easily swap with the Suburban as replacement parts as needed. While I am at it, would like to swap the 400 THM with a 4L60E to have a 4 speed again.

If you are looking to upgrade to a '95 PCM, I would suggest going to a 4L80E instead of the '60E. Same gear ratios as TH400 and can take WAY more abuse than a '60E.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I have considered the 4L80E. I need to learn a whole lot more about which PCM to use, what options there are to interchange engines and transmissions.

Lots!

But this is for introductions, post up a thread in GM EFI section with what you got and what you want to do and lots of guys will help guide you in right direction!

Thanks for the welcome. I have been wading through the site, and its a lot to absorb. Is there a cross-reference of ECM/PCM by vehicle and year?

Kind of? Actually it is done by ECM/PCM number and the mask ID of the bin file (chip) Your 1995 Suburban is probably a 16197427 PCM and $OD. Take a look through this forum where everything is in order for each ECM/PCM.
