I read your great article on the Sunbird fuel pump.
I have a question, while this seems like a great solution to upgrading a non Fi tank to FI
does dumping the fuel back into the tank so close to the pickup cause any aeration problem?
Or have I not read the article throughly enough? My Hilborn instructions warn against directing
the return flow towards the inlet.

Normally dumping the fuel back in near the pickup may cause aeration, the return from this setup runs down into the bucket and doesn't aerate the fuel in the bucket.

I have a couple of pump assemblies out, I can probably set one up next week and get some video of it.

There's a lot of newer GM pumps that do this, they obviously have it worked out the design not to cause aeration. My LT1 pump is similar... quick look at one Greg picked up for me at the JY shows the return line down a tube so return flow is in fluid, not dropping through air into tank causing aeration.
