Hey, I've been looking for a 92-93 LT1 '278 ECU for a couple days with no luck. It's a stock engine 4AT swap into some pre-war iron, just a nice driver. I am pretty sure I can rewire the ECU plugs and run the 94-95 '8051 ECU set up for the early 4L60E without PWM TCC - are there any issues I am not thinking of? Next, i realize I am going out on a limb and the answer is probably no, but I already have a 96-97 '399 ECU laying around. Will that work if i disable PWM TCC codes or am I asking for trouble? Thanks!

what year trans are you using? Probably whatever comes in a 92-93 Corvette, I assumed that is a 4L60 but don't really know anything about that era. I am dealing with a good old boy shop who is going through an ex-employee of theirs to deal with me.

There is some weirdo Vette stuff around this time.
1997-2005 is 4l60E/65E mounted back on the transaxle driveshaft in front of transmission.
1994-96 Vette is 4l60E
1990-1993 Vette is 4l60
1982-1989 Vette is 700-R4

92-93 GEN II SBC LT1 Vette was Speed Density
1994-96 LT 1 Vette with auto trans was MAF
1994-with manual trans was GEN II LT1
1996 with manual trans was GEN II LT4 (330hp@56800rpm/340lb/ft torque@4000rpm)

1990-1993 Vette is 4l60 99% of my domestic experience is Ford and 99+ GM. In the fifteen years I've been tuning I have done two '278 ECM, both manual trans. IIRC the 4L60, no -e, is a mechanically shifted 4AT with TCC? Control wise a 700R4? I just need to find a way to make this car run for these folks, and I am not finding another '278 ECM.

Besides the transmission difference and MAF sensor missing, the '8051 is also sequential injector firing and the harness won't have enough injector wires for this. Instead of 8 wires to control the injectors individually, the harness will only have 2 wires to fire 4 injectors at once.

I believe you'd have to set it up as a manual and install another means to control the TCC lockup, and none of these solutions work as well as a ECM does it. You might be able to set it up as an automatic and turn-off all the codes for the transmission and still get it to control the TCC lockup but I'm not sure it will co-operate doing it that way.

This is a swap? If so steer as far away from the 92-93 computer as possible. I would get a harness from a 94-95 and get a computer from the same. From what I am gathering the engine is a 92-93 and the trans is a 4l60/700r4 correct?
