So i put a tbi kit on my jeep 258. Working on getting tunerpro rt set up. I dont know right from wrong here. Ive downloaded the .bin, .xdf, and .adx files and have them in tunerpro. Im scared to death im going to screw something up. Is it possible to damage something if i have the incorrect files installed? I dont know where to begin. Any help would be great to get me going.

No, your data would be garbage, but no damage

What ecm and files are you using

the ecm is a 7747, apab $42-4.3 manual .bin, $42-1227747-v5.9.3.xdf, and $42-1227747-v5.2.adx, was outside and managed to get it to connect, then after about a minute the rpm's jumped from 750 to 1800 on their own,,,,freaked me out, shut it down. I think i need to try v3.adx.

is your vehical a 4.3 standard trans? that is what mine is and the adx an xdf worked okay but I removed it then reinstalled, are you running xp 7 or windows 10?

the tranny is a ax-15 5 speed, i did some tinkering around and finally got it hooked up and did a bit of recording. My first question would be my knock count, since i dont have a knock sensor, second and probably most important is the timing advance. It starts fine, then the advance ramps up, and up, and up, off the chart above 35 degrees. then after about 50 seconds to a minute, the timing falls flat to zero, and slowly climbs back up repeating the process. those two things are all i could see, and the async! operation, not sure what that is. Is there a way to change that timing from doing that, it has a misfire at idle, or acts like one. and its driving me crazy. Pardon my rant, but to answer your question, windows 10, here are some screen shots i took. 10763107641076510766

it will do that until you burn a chip and apply the bpw and spark patch from the paremeter tree. I don't think it is aculy advancing it is just being read wrong.

How, if possible, can i turn off knock?

you need a chip programmer to burn chips.or have someone do it for you.

you can't do it with tuner pro?

it applys the patch to the bin file, but you have to put that file in the eprom or chip with a proggramer

what patch, I'm lost, this is frustrating, so, tuner pro does exactly what, lets you make changes to the bin file? what does that do?

it will change a lot of setting or apply the patchs in the paremter tree to your bin file, but the bin file has to be programmed to a chip then installed in your ecm before any things will change in your data log or the running engine.

Sorry I didn't reply soon, been real busy.
I actually only have 1 jeep I have installed injection on and tuned. A 79 cherokee with a AMC 401 V8. I do have plans to change the 4.0 in my 93 YJ over to a GM computer, but have not had time to do it yet.

The 7747 does not natively display spark advance. As others have said on here, you have to apply a patch to the bin file to make it to where it will display spark advance in the datastream. You then burn the new/patched bin to a chip and put it in your ecm. You then use the correct ADX to view it. That is the extent of my knowledge on the 7747.
I only ran a 7747 ecm on mine for a very short time before I upgraded to the 7427, so I remember very little about tuning the 7747. I know one thing that drove me nuts was the snail slow datastream on the 7747. I much prefer the 7427 myself. But there is a steeper learning curve with it.
There are others on here who are much more knowledgeable with the 7747 than me. Hopefully one of them will chime in.

thank you jeepsandguns, you aren't kidding about the slow data stream, its a bit ridiculous. I'm currently in a battle with my yj not wanting to idle smooth or start right up. I have found that it runs a lot better with the base timing at 0 degrees, instead of 8. But set at 0 degrees, it doesn't fire right up, its about a 5-10 second crank. And the idle isn't perfect, still rougher than it should be, but far better than at 8 degrees
