View Full Version : Histogram viewing of xls files?

Many people post recorded TunerPro data as Excel .xls data. It's nice because it's a somewhat universal format these days (there are free programs which will read this proprietary data format). Viewing this data in Excel provides a nice static way to look at what's happening but finding key events (changes in data) often requires several steps to re-order, re-group, and discard unwanted information. It doesn't take long for my poor mind to get bored and shut down during this process. Is there an easy method to view these sometimes large data files as a line graph or histogram? Or has all this been put to rest with the latest version of TunerPro?

Was there something like this in an old TunerPro?

You can make a history table in TunerPro, like BLM and it even gives an option for History Standard Deviation for each cell (amount to change VE table by).

Line graph would be monitors.

Does this work if you want to view data that someone else posted as an xls file?

No it would have to be the original TunerPro xdl file. Unless there is a way to convert xls back to xdl? TunerPro will spit out the xdl in several different spreadsheet formats, I forget which and don't remember ever seeing a way to import from spreadsheet?

The Line Chart from the insert tab will do a graph. There are many options for graphs with Excel. Highlight a column and select the graph you would like. I use the simple line chart. Holding down the Ctrl key when selecting more than one column will get two or more lines in the chart.
