Just finished installing a G2 chip adapter into a 1227747 ECM for my 88 S10 to replace the 1228062 ECM.
Installed the original memcal chip from the 1228062 - programmed the 27FS512 chip with a starter bin from Dave at old school EFI.
Now even with key on engine off the CEL blinks rapidly non stop. Motor runs but poorly and the CEL constantly blinks rapidly.
I removed the chip to check continuity of all solder connections - all connections good with none shorted together or open circuits.
1227747 came from Junkyard - could it be bad?

you will have to use a bin file for a 7747 the one from the062 wont work.

the rapid check engine light and poor running sounds like running off memcal in "limp home mode " can be caused by bad connection,to the chip, bad flash, wrong .bin (incompatible mask),bad checksum, or i managed to get a chip in backwards once that caused that.maybe verify your offsets on your burned chip. save for water damage or human error, old school ecms are pretty hardy, i have heard many people blame the computer, but in going on twenty years of turning wrenches i have only seen maybe four bad ecms, two of those were on dodges, and one i spiked with a bad ground...........
