I left a post for hours and my laptop shut off... turned on and still made the post. So I can't make it happen...

Just did that... seems to work... this quick reply is all Java intensive so there is a possibilty that older browser or out of date Java could cause issues.

didn't you say you use a Mac? I know nothing about them...

It's a problem with autosave running under Safari on mac os. I'm running old software to boot. I'm holding out on a hardware upgrade as long as I can.

Apparently, autosave saves a copy of the post on gearhead-efi.com. It probably never happens from Safari on Mac OS.

I cranked up my virtual PC & ran XP. I ran IE on my virtual PC. Went through the Reply to Thread thing. Autosave worked. Got the restore option.

When back to Safari on Mac OS. What happened is far far out & freaked me out. After I clicked on "Reply to Thread" on my Mac running Safari, I got the option to restore data. I got what I had typed on XP!

I'm familiar with this restriction. Even the apple forums don't have restore of a post working.

Seems like this is a PC Windows world.

But the MAC is dominent in printing industry I have found from doing newsltters for clubs then going to printer. And newspapers, magizine advertising from a neighbor. She runs a mac at work for newspaper and a PC at home for internet...
