I've dabbled with EFI for quite some time. I mostly play with GM stuff. Recently I chose to add a Megasquirt in parallel to my 7727 in my 91 vette. Over all it's working out but I've got some questions that I'm hoping to get help with. I'll help out here as well if I can. Before the Megasquirt I played with the 7749 $58, but the flexibility isn't the same to me. I also have an 84 Chev SWB 4x4 with a transplant BBC TBI with a 1227165.

Would the 1227165 work with four low impedance TBI injectors? Would injector resistors be needed?

It is my understanding that the 165 will not drive 4 low impedance injectors nor will any GM ECU in factory form. The 7749 has been successfully modded to run 8 low impedance injectors. I don't think that is very common anymore because the new "large" injectors will still idle well. I believe you would need and external driver or something similar. Not really my specialty. I have a small roots blower for the BBC. Someday I'll see how the TBI will do on it, but I most likely won't run the 165 at that point.
