Since I put my 80E in, I am getting a weird shift from 1st to 2nd. It feels like the truck stalls for a split second before shifting. looking at the data log and that's Just what it shows. For some reason when the second gear shift happens, the timing drops to zero momentarily then comes back up. Torque management is zeroed out and my shift times are at zero or .2 seconds. The gov. parms were populated in my base tune. I checked my old $0D tune and they were all zeroed out. I am not real sure on what they due. Just wondering if this could be part of my problem.

I would compare $31 and $OE with 4L80E code, not $OD which was 4L60E code.

Once upon a time I was told that GM deliberately dropped out timing during shifts of the 60E. Larger applications often saw a greater reduction. True or not, it's something I've noticed for years.

Ok, I will check it out. I compared a 454 $0E and the 350 $0E that I am using. The 454 bin did not have any governor setting set, all zeroed out.

I guess that would be considered torque management? I knew these PCM's had some early forms of TM in then. My XDF only has one scaler for this and its zeroed out.

This is causing some spark knock when the timing comes back up from zero, since I have a turbo spark knock is no good. I have lowered timing trying to get rid of it, then i finally realized what it was doing.

The 700 was a very unreliable trans in the early days.
