Doing an 8.1 swap for a customer right now and found something, just wondering if anyone else has seen it.
Rig is a 1997 K3500 Chevy that had a 454. 454 went boom and in went an 8.1. Everything is working fine. When going though the pin outs on the 454 I saw there was an electric fan on one of the coolers. Its stock. I found relay coil control goes to pin 9 on the black connector just like a 1998 ECM. I know they are different from each other and I have not seen the 96/97 ecm with fans controlled. Also, TC has no tuning ability for fans in 96/97. Am I missing something here or are the fan settings not tune able?
Note, this has nothing to do with operation on this rig now that it is the 8.1 with LS1B ecm. I am just trying to figure this out for future reference.
