Hi everyone, putting a 1998 4.3 in my 49 chev truck,just looking for tips..

Such a wide open question! Get a wiring diagram and try to locate a source for OE information for the donor vehicle. Be prepared to have someone shut off codes and tests for unnecessary systems or buy tuning software to DIY. Post your progress and questions as they come up for best results.

I learned that the wire diagram is much easier to read if you take it to staples and have one of their repro techs blow it up on 17x11 paper. Also have varying sizes of shrink tube, lots of solder, and a good heat gun.
