Hello from Colorado. Not new to cars, but new to ecm tuning. Glad to meet you all.

:welcome:

Which ECM are you going to working with?

The one right now is a 1228746. I have a G2 adapter soldered into the daughterboard and when I install my burned 27sc512 eprom in the check engine light flickers like it won't recognize it. Lookin for pointers onthe forums. I have a lot of people that want pcm work so I decided I would learn some new things an give it a try.

What offsets are you using when you burn the 27SF512 chip?

You'll have to explain offset. I think I need pointed in the direction of a first timer thread. I understand the efi side but not the tuning.

Is it similar with tunercat? I know its burning the chip because I can read the calibration after I complete the burn. I also downloaded tunerpro but can't get v5 to open. I'll have to post the error message to see if anyone has any pointers.

I'd like to focus on the chip programming only. Both Tuner Cats and Tuner Pro will edit the binary (.bin) file to be burned into the chip. I'm thinking you are using a Moates.net Burn 2 to burn your chip? The 27SF512 chip is 64K in memory size. The original chip for the 1228746 is 4K in memory size.

Place the 27SF512 chip into the Burn 2.

Open the .bin file you want to burn into the 27SF512 in the Burn 2 software.

Set the offsets for the 4K chip.

Erase the 27SF512 chip.

Program the chip.

Done.

I'll try that after work. Thanks
