I've been looking for a 512 kB flex fuel (L59, 5.3L V8) file that is a DBC (drive by cable throttle body) configuration. There are a couple over on the Tune Depot, but they are both DBW. Does anyone have a *.bin file from a 512kB (LS1) PCM which was a DBC. Flex fuel was an option on both trucks and SUV's. My guess is that a truck file would have been DBC.

I believe this 2002 VIN# ( 1GNEK13Z02J286808 ) was Flex Fuel. Maybe you can find the file your looking by using the VIN# posted?

Not sure why it matters. The dbw file is dbc capable. Just flip the switch and change appropriate dtc's.

8th digit Z is the L59 code in the vin. 12216125 is the flex fuel o/s. The following link is in the repository here and dbc, cant vouch its stock(have to rename download, site call them all attachment.php for some reason).

Thanks for all the help mecanicman. I grabbed that file and saw that it was a DBC setup.

I appologize for novice questions, but what switch needs to be changed? I'm guessing that by DTC's, your saying to turn off the TAC codes and to enable the IAC stuff. I did not know that you could change an OS from DBW to DBC.

if using IE as a browser you have to run it in compatibility mode and then it will download it as a .cal. Atleast that's how I corrected it from the php deal

Which tuning software are you using?

EFILive. Does EFILive have the necessary options mapped to make this change? Or would you have to use a *.CAX file to do it?

Attached is the EFI Live .ctz (.zip) file for the VIN # I posted above.

Hope this helps?

Yes it can. With your file open go Calibrations-System-Vehicle Platform-Vehicle Platform Options. Change the Yes to No in the Electronic Throttle row under your vehicle platform which should be GMT800 column. Compare to DBC file and change the DTC's to match and you should be good to go.

I will have to give this a try. I have always read that making changes to this part of the software doesn't do anything. It's more a table of what's in the OS instead of a table where you can make changes.

Cant speak for EFI live as I am newer to it myself, but using hptuners for this function it works just fine. Can be done to any 0411 file and most 1 mb pcm files as long as the pcm has the proper drivers in it.
