Hey guys, was poking around looking for a definition file for a 1988 LN3 3800. I was able to find it by the ECM # but it glitches out every few seconds and several values are off. Anyone have this file? Thanks and I love this forum!

No worries, grateful for the help you can give me.

you need the A042 or A071 definition, which i guess i've never created for whatever reason.

the A094 you mentioned using in your email must be similar enough to where swapping some stuff around will likely make it correct. which of the two you actually need, i'm not sure. they may even be completely identical, it wouldn't be the first time that has happened. or it could just be the BCM section is different or .....

basically, it probably wouldn't be much time/effort to make them, but i don't have that at the moment, i don't know when work will slow down enough for anything other than short replies.

No rush man, whenever your able to get to it. All I'm really doing is data logging for now with the intent on using this combo as a test bed for a future evil project.

what sort of evil project :D.we have a stock high km bottomend LN3 making over 400rwhp with only cam and valvesprings and a single turbo

That is freaking awesome but unfortunately mine is in a FWD car but I've got a plan to start small with tuning it as is to start with and eventually go with a supercharger swapped off a L67 series I.

fwd is even easier to turbo from the kits ive seen in usa depending on what your engine bay is like.weve gone 11.02 on the 1/4 at 1550kg.runs upto 21psi and gets a hiding.

Thats pretty wicked man, my car is old enough that theres plenty of room for whatever I want to put in it. Just have to source some parts from the junkyard and I'll be good to go!

potentially dumb question: you are using the A094 file meant for the H-body cars, correct? and using an H-body calibration?

Yes, I am using A094 and it's pretty spot on except for a few values which I believe aren't reported by this ECM and other values were either wrong or not present.

looks like A042 is the winner in terms of the correct one for an 88 LN3 application without a BCM, however it is actually identical to A094.

here is a converted version i put together, see if it fixes any glitching? if not, we'll work through and find what is causing it.

Fricken sweet! I'll load it up and let you know, thanks!

Alright, everything looked good. The AFR though didn't seem right at 2.78 and I couldn't find a value for the Integrator but I do have the BLM and most everthing else looked right.

have a XDL from this car to playback stuff? that would be helpful for debugging why you see odd values.

i think i see the issue with the AFR conversion already though....

the early 3800 stuff may work a bit differently than expected, i imagine "closed loop correction" takes place of the INT value.

Here's an older log but it should work. Thanks again man!

okay, this has the AFR fixed and everything else i looked at seemed to act normally. the fuel usage and distance accumulators look to be very small capacity and roll over a lot.
