Speedo Calculator for TunerPro

I was hired to wire in an 95 LT1 that was swapped into a 95 GMC truck. Its all together and on the road. I have a few bugs in the swap that I'm trying to help owner stamp out. I'm new to tuning, and I'm using TunerPro. The ECU isn't commanding the fans to turn on. I found out the values were set at 160* on fan1 and 180* for fan 2. BUT,,,, its suppose to be in Celsius. That was easy. I would like to correct the speedo. I found a link to a spread sheet to calculate it, and tell me what to change in TunerPro. BUT I cant open the spread sheet. I cant get either program to down load the be able to use it. Any other options? Can someone take my info and put it in the calculator and possible post it here?

This is for Tunercat. I can't tell you if the data has the same name in TP but I'm sure someone here can help with that part.

There are a few questions... does the speedo still go through the DRAC (white box under dash)?
Can you get final drive ratio and rolling circumference of tire?
What trans is in truck?
Is cruise control and ABS still installed and expected to work?

Trans 4l60e. 95 model
Gear 3.73
16188051 LT1 ecu
265-75-16 tire, 30" tall , 94.25 circumference
Speedo, cruse, abs all are hooked up to the LT ecu and work. The speedo reads 5mph fast at 55mph. That is what I'm trying to change.

Also the link is under TunerPro bins in this forum. I have no way to know it was Cats cause I can't get it open. Sorry.

if you were using the 'EEX' tunerpro xdf that i reworked (which you should be), in category view (which you should always be in, in that XDF..) in the instrument calibration section.... all of the equations to do speedometer calibration are very well documented and no spreadsheet is required, just 30 seconds and a calculator.

Im using $EE definition off TurnerPro web page under downloads. I'm new to this stuff and don't fully understand every thing yet. If there is an other definition file that works better can you post a link to it. Thanks

I have 94 A4 Trans Am with 2.72 gears
I calculated speedo for factory wheels (245/50/16) and thats what i get

Speedo Scalar 21,000
Speedo Scalar Fraction 0,982

Then I opened my BIN file
there is

You probably aren’t doing anything wrong. I get similar results comparing stock wheels and tires for my Corvettes versus their stock ROMs. You will likely get a good result for your new calculation even if you can’t replicate the stock values with the calculator. ;)

Thanks for the reply. Im gonna swap my rear end with 3.42.
Do I need to modify some other tables, like trans shifting or just speedometer and that's it?

You will likely have to change those tables too if you have a 4L60E, yes. Basically, first you need to convert the speeds listed in your shift points into RPMs by using the stock wheels/tires/ratio as a guide. Then you'll know when the stock car is going to engage the shifts. Then change the ratio (and wheels/tires if necessary) and convert those RPMs back to speed. Then fill the speeds back in.

Or decide what RPM you want the shift to be at, then convert that RPM to a speed with your new ratio (and wheels/tires) if you just want to ignore the stock settings and do your own thing.

Maybe it would be easier just to compare with stock bin from 3.42 4l60e f-body. But I cant find it :(

Because it may not exist. But you can use the B-Body auto 3.42 as a reference for the same tables if you want.

I thought about it. And I think that b-body tables are for "calm" driving, not so agressive like vettes or f-body.
What I found else
3.42 manual tranny tables are almost the same with 2.72 automatic.
But 3.23 table shifts on much lower speeds. It seems to be from 3.4 f-body.

Sounds like you should just do your own math, then. ;)

why not just fix your speedometer calibration but use the transmission tables for a 3.23 f-body. they will be pretty close and then you can adjust from there. the stock shift points aren't great anyway, you'll want to change them.

since the transmission tables in a manual bin aren't used, they probably just left them incorrect
